BCA is a network made up of disgruntled workers, students, rebels and unemployed which aligns itself broadly with libertarian-left ideas and principles, including those found within social-anarchism and anarcho-syndicalism –
grounded in the Australian context.
We are active in our neighbourhoods, communities and workplaces, and organise to defend our rights, improve our conditions and complement struggles for a better world through solidarity, self-organisation, mutual-aid and direct action. At the root of this effort is our desire to live and take part in a radically different social system - where healthy communities and the dignity of all are of prime concern.
We hope to contribute towards opening spaces for self-education, ideas for struggle and a rebellious culture free of dogma and ideology -- a non-hierarchical, anti-authoritarian solidarity movement.
Some of our current activities include producing, sharing & distributing literature, an irregular reading group, putting on 'People's History' discussion/film nights - as well as networking, organising and producing resources around workplace, welfare and tenancy issues as a solidarity network— 'Brisbane Solidarity Network'
We meet at Turnstyle Social Centre and generally put on
an infostall every Friday @ Small Park along with
Food not Bombs.
